Augusto D. Bengzon l 15 October 2024 at Seda BGC

To our distinguished speakers, fellow FINEX members, friends from media, guests – good afternoon and welcome to our 10th GMM.

The BPO industry is the biggest employment provider, generating 1.7 million jobs in 2023. The BPO industry is also the largest contributor to the economy, comprising 8.4% of the country’s gross domestic product (GDP) in 2023.

Today, on behalf of FINEX, I would like to express my profound thanks to our speaker, Jack Madrid, President & CEO of IT and Business Process Association Philippines, for taking the time to share his perspectives on today’s topic.

We just concluded our 56th FINEX Week celebration and I must say that it was a success!

It would not have been possible without the support of our sponsors, speakers, panelists and moderators, and you, my fellow FINEX members.

The success of the FINEX Week activities was a result of collaboration. I would also like to thank the following committees for their participation during the week-long conference – Women in Finance Committee led by Chair Danielle del Rosario and Liaison Director Mignon Ramos, Ethics Committee, led by Chair Wilma Miranda and Liaison Director Flor Tarriela, International Relations Committee led by Chair Regina Saga and Liaison Director Benny Soliven, Young Finance Officers Committee led by Co-Chair Jing Arellano and Janis Maghinat, and Liaison Director Lazatin, Professional Development Committee led by Co-Chairs Paolo Azurin and Mai Bisnar, and Liaison Director Gema Cheng, Environment Committee Chair Elross Pangue, and Liaison Trustee Ebot Tan, and Good Governance Committee led by Chair Rizza Latorre, and Liaison Director Edith Estacio.

Our year is not yet over, and I encourage you to attend our upcoming activities:

On October 19, the Arts and Culture Committee will sponsor a tour on Ayala Arts and Music Festival in Ayala Museum.

On November 15, we will unveil this year’s ING FINEX CFO of the Year awardee in a dinner ceremony at the Shangri-la at the Fort. This will also be our 11th GMM this year.

Our Junior FINEX Committee of the FINEX Foundation will host the 24th Inter-Collegiate Finance Competition Elimination Round on October 25 in 7 different sites nationwide and Final Round at the BSP on November 25. Thank you, JP Morgan Chase, for the continued funding support together with FTI Consulting. I would also like to thank its partners NOAH Business Applications, PwC Isla Lipana & Co., CFA Society Philippines, IMA Philippines, and the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas.

I also encourage everyone to support the initiatives of the FINEX Research and Development Foundation and the FINEX Academy.

Lastly, our annual Christmas Party will be on December 2 at Shangri-la at the Fort.

I would like to express my sincerest gratitude to the following organizations for confirming their support as year-round sponsors in 2023:

Platinum:        Forecasting and Planning Technologies, Inc. and Ayala Land, Inc.

Diamond:       Stronghold Insurance Company, Inc.

Gold:               BDO Unibank, Bank of the Philippine Islands, KPMG R.G. Manabat & Co., Metropolitan Bank and Trust Company, PwC Isla Lipana & Co., Romulo Law, SGV & Co. & UBS.

Patron: BPI MS Insurance, East West Bank, Land Bank of the Philippines, Liberty Insurance, Malayan Insurance, Philippine Equity Partners, P&A Grant Thornton, Regis Partners, and San Miguel Corp.

Our sponsors’ kind support allows us to carry out our programs for the year. As we get support from our generous sponsors, we as members, in addition to our active participation in numerous FINEX activities and advocacies, should do our part in at least two ways: first, by paying our annual dues on time, and second, by actively recruiting new members. This is the most effective strategy to secure our Institute’s long-term growth.

Thank you and mabuhay tayong lahat.
