A water forum that will bring together movers, shakers, influencers and various stakeholders aimed to increase awareness and priority on the water sector.

Event Details

Despite the emergence of water as a first line of defense in this pandemic, not enough priority and opportunity is given, for both public and private sector to work together towards a sustainable path to water security. Globally, USD114 Billion per year is needed until 2030 to address the financing gap in the water sector. There is recognition across the world that a systematic and comprehensive approach need to be taken to maximize partnerships, resources, and impact to truly achieve water security in a country and across the world.  Countries across the world have laid out their plans and priorities towards water security:

In March 2022, China’s first-ever 14FYP for Water Security signals that it is well ahead in water adaptation.  Reiterating among others, that Water is a top priority for China’s next 100 years of development.

In June 2022, US Vice President Harris launched the White House Action Plan on Global Water Security, a landmark whole-of-government effort to achieve a water-secure world.

In the forefront of initiating a plan was the Philippines.  In September 2021, the Philippines led by the National Economic Development Agency launched the Philippine Water Supply and Sanitation Roadmap.  Like the 14FYP and the White House Action Plan, this is an articulation of all the challenges faced in obtaining a sustainable access to safe water, a call to action and commitment highlighting among others the need for proper governance and financing.

This forum seeks to increase the awareness and appreciation on the need to take immediate action on a very basic and universal issue, water security.  The forum will focus on the challenges, enabling policies and opportunities to work together across public and private sector to achieve water security in the Philippines.

In adherence to health and safety protocols, the forum will be in hybrid format – limited face-to-face and virtual via Zoom.

  • For those attending virtually, the Zoom meeting link will be sent to your registered email address three (3) days before the event.
